Daystar KJ71049BK Black Front Hood Vent Kit for Jeep JK

Easy to install with the correct tools described in instructions. Functional! On a trail day you can see the hot air pouring out of this vent. When really pushing my 2013 JKU on trails the heat can still climb but it's never gone past the danger point. I'll probably get the side vents someday also. My only regret is these abs styles are brand specific and impossible to match unless your getting another Daystar version.

Went back and forth with this for month because i like everyone else wants one of those fancy expensive hoods that still need to be painted. Went to many jeep meets and noticed those hoods didnt have much ventilation for the price. Finally went with this. Not one regret. Huge vent. So many people even jeep employees think its stock. Looks great along side the other metal and rubber pieces on the hood. Saved myself $1,500

I like the product. Template make this easy. But the tolerances leave little room for error. Had to oversize my bolt holes but still fit nicely. If you own a jigsaw by some Lenox medium metal cutting blades. Went through my hood like a knife through butter. Also no need for a hole saw if you have a step bit.

Having the template and good instructions made for a good installation.

This in combination with the right and left Daystar vents had an observable impact on coolant temperature and underhood temperature. Recommend if you are Ok with cutting hood. I like how it looks compared to other vented Jeep hoods.

Great build quality, very happy with the purchase.I selected to position the vent higher on the bonnet and it has delivered great results. see attached photos.

Thick and rugged. Comes with a nice template.

Didn't actually use this on a jeep, installed it on an 09 Ford Crown Victoria interceptor. Fit perfectly in the opening on the underside of the hood. Ended up building a cover for it to eliminate snow ingestion over winter and requires a deflector mounted inside the hood for summer as the alternator sits just behind the opening. Works better than anything else I was able to find or fabricate at this time

Very well made product. Great templates and clear instructions. Greatly helped to remove excess heat. Note: I installed these on a Hummer H2. They are universal and can be installed on pretty much any hood with careful attention to placement and hood structure. The installation screws need to be 1/4longer than the ones supplied...no biggie you can find them at any hardware store. Very Pleased
