KJV, Preaching Bible, Premium Calfskin Leather, Black, Comfort Print: Holy Bible, King James Version Leather Bound – January 22, 2019

This is a gorgeous KJV, with large print, great leather, and fantastic construction. I am new to premium bibles, and couldn't be happier with this one.

I absolutely love this Bible for preaching! I do not use it as my everyday Bible, but it is my go-to for preaching. The spacing and layout of the verses make finding what I am looking for easy. The blue numbers also help your eyes to find the breaks. The offset of the numbers prevents them from getting lost in the text. Whenever your mind recalls something from a specific passage (which often happens as you preach) it takes a lot of the guesswork out of trying to read through and find what you are wanting to locate.I prefer carrying a smaller bible on a day-to=day basis, but understand that this one needs to be the size it is for the usability and purpose for which it was made. This is not meant to be a personal bible, but a preaching Bible. That is exactly what it is. Some may like this for their personal carrying Bible though.I used to preach from the same Bible that I study because I felt more comfortable jumping around the familiar pages. It made choosing a bible for me hard since I usually read and re-read the book I am studying multiple times a week. My study is different, so I began using a reader's Bible for my daily Bible reading. Much more to my liking.As for my study, I use a printable Bible and take all my notes there. This created a need for a Bible that was specifically for preaching and nothing else. Kind of difficult to preach from a reader's Bible, and my printable bible is just one book at a time, so cross-referencing other passages can be difficult.My deacons also love this. Whenever they open the service with a scripture reading, they want me to leave my Bible on the pulpit for them to use. Great Job!!!

This is a great bible, but there was a bit of damage during shipping and a few very minor factory defects as well. The bible itself is very nicely constructed and has a really great layout for reading from a desk or pulpit.Cons:First, there's the shipping. It was shipped in a flimsy bubble mailer and not handled particularly carefully, which led to damage on both corners of the hinge-side of the box. I am keeping this box to protect the bible and now I'm going to have to somehow repair the tears to make it last. Also, the gilt edges have several small scuffs near the lower corner, probably from rough handling during shipping. This is minor stuff, but kinda disappointing with a premium bible I paid around $85 for after tax.As for factory defects, one of the ribbons was burnt poorly and is not straight along the bottom edge. Also, there is a bit of a rough edge along the inside where the leather is folded over at some points and is not glued down. These are all tiny superficial things and shouldn't hurt anything in the long-run, so I'm not really concerned about them.Pros:The font is great. I can read it from several feet away. It has plenty of space around it as well. The font and spacing and sizing reminds me of textbooks. The paper is great. Very white and plenty thick. The binding is well done. It feels great and lays flat very easily, though it will take some breaking in before it will lay flat at the extreme ends. It wouldn't snap closed on me while reading, but I had to read to about page 25 before it would lay flat naturally on its own. The cover lays fairly flat with no problems, but the first and last pages, the thick protective pages, have enough stiffness to not let the Bible lay open flat near the ends.The cover is beautiful and flexible and soft, but not overly floppy. It isn't so large that I can't hold it in my hand to read if I had to, but it is large enough to make it easy to read and give you plenty of text per page so you don't have to flip around constantly. The page layout is clean and uncluttered considering the features it has. The small margins and maximized text space are nice. The references are out of the way and a bit cluttered, so you do have to be a bit closer to focus on them, but you won't need them often and can easily find the one you need for a sermon if you have it marked.I think the quality is great in all the right ways. The great construction means it will last a very long time if treated well, and will probably last several decades even with mild abuse. But beyond the construction, it has elegant looks. And beyond that, it is functional in ways that most bibles are not through its unique layout and font sizing, and that is what makes it truly special, because that inspires me to open it and inspires me to keep reading once I do open the bible.The in-between:It's kinda heavy and big. It is larger than a standard 'personal' sized bible and certainly not a compact or ultralight bible. It is not a perfect travel bible, not an EDC bible for a backpack. It's not the best bible for portability, but is especially good on a desk or pulpit. I wouldn't recommend this as your only bible due to this, but I would certainly recommend it as a part of a set of Bibles which also includes smaller, portable bibles as well. It isn't the bible you want to hold in your hand for an entire sermon. That's not to say that it is overly huge or unweildy, because it isn't. But it is certainly not small.Overall, I love this bible. The large font and nice layout makes it easy for me to keep reading this bible while dealing with life's little distractions whereas other bibles would cause me to stop reading until I could return my full focus back to the bible and stay close to it. I can move around more and do other simple things without losing my concentration with this Bible and that increases the overall percentage of time that I spend absorbing the scripture while studying, so I love it. I really recommend this bible to preachers or anyone who is serious about bible study and who wants to study from a desk.

Very beautiful preaching Bible with nice small grain soft leather, big simple and easily readable font, the ghosting is not as bad as it looks in the picture, nice choice of color for the titles, verse by verse format, Bible comes with 3 ribbons which is great because one is never enough for me, beautifully gilded edges and the bible itself is very very flexible which is just what I wanted, it lays flat even in genesis. I'm very happy with my purchase, I just hope it will stand the test of time and won't fall apart with heavy use.. I guess we'll see

The quality of the print is great and the size of the fonts are fine for most people.The quality of the leather is not great and the lining is even poor quality.It is a good bible for preacher as the readable.
