Introduction to CATIA V5 Release 19 1st Edition

Does a good job of laying out the basics for most of the main aspects of CATIA. Could use a better explanation for configuring the menus and functionality so that your experience matches what the book says you should see and what should happen.

i got the CATIA V5 software installed and since i never have had CATIA experience or instruction i knew that i'd better get a good text book for learning the first time. Well i got the right book alright,it has step-by-step details, graphic illustrations and explained what was going on with the program at every step, i got the right book, you can't go wrong with this selection.

This book is another fine example of required texts that fill professor's pockets. Although it walks through step by step instructions in Catia, I found the book to be somewhat vague and confusing at times. Anyway it was required so who am I to question it? There goes my 40 dollars for another dumb old class...

This is a very good intro to CATIA. I've worked with other parametric programs and comprehend 3D modeling. I've read the first two chapters without the software and got a basic understanding of the commands. I bought this for a college course and should serve it intended purpose. Contents seem to be structured well and easy to follow. So far!

I love how this author used her Mother to Q.A. her tutorials. I don't know if I could get my Mother to draw in 3D. The tutorials seem to touch on every single icon that is available in CATIA. This book is very easy to follow and I have learned quite a bit in a very short time.

This book is well written for any new users. It shows what each icon is and what it can do for the subject covered. I have completely read the whole book and I just wished there was a follow on book like this one.

For forty bucks this book should have been a lot more. there were several omissions and errors in the book but worst of all the chapter on the drafting workbench is very thin.would recommend CATIA V5 Workbook Release 19 By Richard Cozzens if your going to buy one book.

Perfect, I seriously learned Catia in just over 1 week (2 hours per day)

Great book.

I needed this book for a class in university and, even with shipping, it was $20 cheaper to buy on Amazon than at my university bookstore. The book itself is great, the tutorials give you a firm grasp on how to use the tools effectively; after a few of them I modeled and assembled my own Theo-Jansen mechanism. Only complaint would be that some of the tools don't get fully explained in the book and the tutorials train you to do things only in one way, rather than promoting critical thinking as to how to most efficiently make a part. Overall a great buy, thumbs up.

i hate catia give me solidworks any day but if you have to use it this book is a godsend
