I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to know more about pro ...
I heard about this book years ago and was excited to see it finally released as an expanded e-book. Aside from being a very in-depth autobiography of a legend of the sport, this is an outstanding book on the overall history of professional wrestling from the turn of the 20th century to the late 1980s. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to know more about pro wrestling in general or Lou Thesz specifically. He goes into great detail about the business side of "the business", and had this book been published when originally completed, would have shed some major light on the pro wrestling industry years before Mick Foley became a NY Times bestselling author.

Service from seller was great, no complaints there
Service from seller was great, no complaints there. Book itself is only 'okay'. Not nearly as interesting as other wrestling biographies I'm used to. Thesz is too gentlemany to really deal out any really juicy stories. Book is not in kayfaybe, but still holds back too much.

Worth reading for the hardcore fan/historian
Lou tells some interesting stories here. The book is written in an approachable, easy-to-follow voice, and while it meanders here and there, you don't end up lost. It is important from a historical standpoint as well; all of the men from this era, including Lou himself, are now deceased, so the book gives us insight into their world as pro wrestling developed from shoot to work.

Good book
Interesting book, I like that it does have a lot of behind the scenes, Lou was a top wrestler for many decades and has very interesting stories.

HOOKER - lightning strikes TWICE
This is the book i wish had been published 14 years ago - the added content and the chapter endnotes made the book so much more enjoyable than the original version, though i understand why it had to be published the way it was. to coin a phrase, this is NOT your father's "HOOKER" - get this book NOW!!! (even the cover, with the pictures chronicling the life of Lou Thesz was itself almost worth the purchase price - the content was merely "sauce for the goose"I enjoyed reading how Lou's wife tempered Lou's opinion on Rocca (but never his opinion of Mondt) and she was willing to admit where Lou was flat wrong in his memory (or what and HOW he CHOSE to remember) .....over all EXTREMELY worth buying - even buying AGAIN!!!!!

Tough Guy Among Tough Guys
Wrestling history from the great Lou Thesz who lived in the golden era of pro wrestling. He recalls the shooters, hookers (not what you are thinking of} and the marks. Mr. Thesz alsoalso speaks about various wrestling holds. A goldmine of information long before mixed martial arts.

Hooker Review
There are wrestling biographies that are great, ok or uneventful but Lou Thesz' story was very good. There were stories I heard others say about Thesz and Thesz did not mention them but I enjoyed it none the less. He was very forthcoming about the business and when he explained the business in the 30 and 40s, his story brought me into a glamorous time in the business that made me wish I was there. A definite winner.

Great read about legend of a bygone era
Amazing book. Fascinating person. Some excellent stories about the people in his life and all of his influences. Check out some interviews and matches with him on YouTube which go along well with the reading. My first kindle book ever.

Wrestling Gold
I love the wrestling history I've read so far, only being about a quarter way through...If the rest of the book is as good as it has been it will be a real treasure for any Pro Wrestling fan...
