In the third season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, fans were introduced to the planet Risa, a tropical resort paradise whose native population was known for their open sexuality. As Jean-Luc Picard left for a "Captain's Holiday," Commander Riker requested the captain bring him back a Horga'hn, saying it would be easy to find one for purchase. Of course, Riker knew the significance of the idol, but Picard did not. Both the captain and the viewers watching the episode discovered at the same time the true meaning of this statue. Captain Picard was not amused, but delighted fans were now hooked on the Horga'hn. Now you can have a Horga'hn of your very own and announce to the world that you are seeking jamaharon! Nows your chance to own a 1:1 scale replica as seen in Star Trek TNG.

Nice But Needed Some Work
I have been looking for an affordable Horga'hn for years. I was thrilled to find this one. I read a couple of bad reviews but I am very crafy so I was willing to take a chance. It was fairly well molded although there were some rough edges. The color was all wrong and was much lighter than the picture. Actually, the Horga'hn in the picture is much better looking than what I received. I spent quite some time sanding the edges and even longer painting it, but I think it turned out beautifully. I am thrilled to finally own a Horga'hn that didn't cost me an arm and a leg. If you are crafty, it is definitely worth the investment. If you are not crafty, you might want to pass on this one.

Wouldn't recommend at the price
Ok, it's just a plastic tiki, but I feel more attention to quality should be applied when it's plastic tiki that costs a hundred bucks. It wasn't even close to the right color, and I doubt it was anything to do with the lighting on the seller's photo. This tiki is supposed to be dark brown. What I received is light taupe, the code I think comes closest is BE8053. It's far too light, and looks terrible. Also, the excess plastic at the seams where the two mold pieces met needs a lot more cleaning up. The only good news is that I'm an artist, creative and good with crafty things so I'll be able to make it right. I'll have to first file the seams better, then mix the right color paint and give it a few coats, then mix a darker brown wash to apply over the first coat and wipe away all but what's left in the crevices. Then I'll clear coat it. I'm giving it as a gift and I would NEVER give it the way it is as it arrived. In the condition it arrived, I would estimate it as worth about 20 bucks.

Very Disappointed!
The product, as pictured on Amazon, is beautiful: a well painted brown finish. What I received is not that. It appears as though the resin was removed from the mold and then painted. After the paint dried, the piece was sanded (or ground) to remove the rough edges left by the mold. The paint was sanded off, and not re-applied. The piece is not 'display-able' in it's present, ugly state. I would have happily paid $15 or $20 for this piece, knowing that it would arrive 'bare' and I would apply the finish myself. I paid $100, expecting a piece that was ready to be displayed. Truly disappointed!

poor shipping, somewhat damaged
Very cool and has weight like the real object. Simulated wood painted brown. The shipper didn't pack it properly and several of the edges had the color rubbed off and I will have to paint pen to touch it up, otherwise a very nice replica!
