Great to get your colony started instead of going to pet stores every week
So far so good, I’ve got everything set up and the directions are pretty informative and helpful. I found the perfect size to go along with this kit was a 53 quart plastic container. It’s pretty easy to make it into the perfect home for your crickets. I bought 1000 crickets from josh’s frogs and they are doing very well with the supplies in this! Amazon also has tons of plastic containers which are very cheap and work great for most live feeder insects. It was cheaper to get all of the specifics in this kit than to buy it all separate so thanks for providing this convenient set.

Great kit!
Everything was in the kit ready to set up for the crickets. I grabbed my crickets on the way home and set everything up and I'm just waiting now for the process to happen. I've done them in smaller batches this time as my previous large batch didn't turn out so well and all 300 of my crickets ended up dying out. Not with this kit but on my own so I decided to give this kit a try and purchased it and am trying two small batches of 75 crickets in each tub to see how well it will work out this time. Hopefully with everything it will turn out great.

Not everything came in the kit
My kit arrived neatly packed and instructions were great. I knew what I need to get that I didn’t have but my kit was missing 2 items. The screen for on top of the soil and the calcium. Other than that I am ready to start my farm

Good quality
Very good quality supplies and great stuff for crickets. Be aware though, if you want to get a colony going instead of just housing feeders, you're going to need to buy 2 kits. You'll need 2 separate setups to breed crickets to keep the young separated from the adults. (Adults will eat the young)

It’s infested with roaches- WARNING- this is infested.
This is A NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!! I received this kit just because I thought it would be nice to try raising crickets rather than stopping at the pet shop every two weeks. The kit arrived and I unpacked it on my dining room table. FIRST TREMENDOUS MISTAKE. Roaches are living inside of this thing and they are now loose inside of my house. I have NEVER IN MY LIFETIME SEEN A ROACH IN PERSON. I was falling asleep and it was on my pillow. Then went onto the wall and I finally was able to grab it. I put the roach inside of a bag. I took the whole entire cricket kit and stick it inside of a trash bag. Within a couple of minutes I heard the crinkling sound of more roaches now insideThe trash bag. I feel like I’m crawling out of my skin. The crickets live in our detached garage. We are extremely clean people, like on the level of OCD. I have never in my life had a roach in my home, not even as a child. When my kids saw the roach they knew right away it isn’t a feeder roach. They said this type of a roach is dirty and it’s what comes from filth. If it’s true then the place where this shipped from must be disgusting. I don’t even know what to do. I’m having an exterminator come to my house. I can’t even sleep now. This is so bad. If you purchase this thing don’t open it inside of your home. I didn’t end open the item, I simply took it out of the Amazon shopping box. Everything else is in the original manufacturers packaging.

Buy these things separately
IT DID NOT HAVE ROACHES IN IT. I saw a review that it did after I had already bought it and I was terrified but I am pleased to report it is ROACH-FREE. However, I also agree with the comments saying it would be cheaper to just buy the ingredients separately. The “peat moss” very much looks like standard coco fiber. Unless that WASN’T the peat moss, because the bags don’t come labelled. It also gives you directions which include things the kit DOES NOT INCLUDE, such as a mesh barrier and two totes. It also contradicts guides I have already read, specifically about the humidity that the crickets require; while this says they do well with humidity, I’ve read that the babies require it, but the adults do best at 0%. Overall, I feel it’s overpriced for what I got.
