Great pack by Fishpond
Great pack by Fishpond. I support this company 100% for several reasons. The pack is well though out. Pockets where you need them, want them, and use them. Love the fold out fly patches that are optional to velcro to outer compartment. I carry the exact same yeti 18oz in picture full of coffee with a 28oz water bottle. The large compartment i use for streamer box, lunch/snacks, extra gear. The shoulder strap it comes with is optional and genius design. Works like a work bench. Can stick flies on it and i use a nipper with retractor on there. I use fishpond accessories with the Gunnison pack, and so far.... I’m loving my time on water and spending more tome actually fishing than looking for stuff. I have a sling, backpack, vest, and chestpack. There’s pros and cons to all of them for different days or time windows on water. The Gunnison is my go-to for sessions 1 hour up to 8 hours on water. I like the pack loaded more on my waist, freeing up my shoulders for casting and high-stick nymphing. Ps-Not completely waterproof but it will keep water out if you have a quick splash or light rain.

Looking forward to using it.
I am looking forward to using guide pack which is already comfortable. The guide pack is a great value & will assist me fishing all morning without a concern of not having the flies & leaders I need.

It's Big!
This is a big pack holds A LOT of stuff. It is a little bulky for casual use even though you can easily turn it around to get it out of the way. Cup holders are great and love the quick fly bench in front. I will definitely enjoy it for times I will be walking long distances down the river but may look into a lighter one for short distances. Love not wearing a bulky vest! My only wish is that it was waterproof for high water. Fishpond makes excellent gear at a very affordable price.

Never again will I use a fanny pack
I've had several fishpond products and by and large they are well thought out and well made. However, after fishing w/ one of these for a week, I've decided to finally reject the fanny pack idea forever. I have a technical fishpond backpack type vest that I've used for many years, I thought to try to downsize and tried this (I have tried a fanny pack before and didn't like it, not sure why I tried it again). Several functional difficulties outweigh the use of this for me. First, it has to be very tight on the waist to avoid having it slide down to your butt and beyond while wading. The buckle straps can't be secured so they always loosen up and start to slip, and I mean within a minute of walking/wading. I used Gorilla tape to prevent the straps from sliding and while that worked, it was then too tight to rotate on my waist to bring the compartments on the back into play. After taping the straps, I then couldn't loosen them to allow me to rotate the pack. If I didn't tape the straps, they loosened within minutes making it fall down my legs. THIS IS AN UNSOLVABLE CONUNDRUM. When I didn't tape it , I could loosen the straps and rotate it to my front but then the net sticking out of the net slot was in my chest and face making it impossible to work w/ the accessories pockets to access flies and other supplies. I ended up carrying it over my shoulder and placing it on the shore each time I stopped to fish. Some would suggest using a chest pack to keep certain things on the front.....hmmm, now that's not down sizing. I think I'll just stick w/ my back pack vest and carry less stuff......this keeps all the frequently used essentials in the front where there is easy access, and the seldom used things like extra flies, gloves, jackets, whatever, in the back where the weight is well supported.
