Silent hill reveiw
I have to be honest. This was pretty poor, i had high hopes for it after first reading Sinners Reward. But this could of been so much better. The Grinning Man wasnt all bad, the story line was good. But It could of been alot longer, same goes for the other stories. They made no sense at all, Paint it Black was a massive disappointment. Im not even sure why the artist was in Silent Hill. Its meant to be a dark dreery thing. But this, no. It could of been so much better, the art eh. Was reasonable i guess, could of been better. The cover art was very good though. I've only played Silent Hill 2 the game, so it's all i have to go by but this. Wasnt like it, was too tame.Would i tell any one to buy it?Depends, if you wanna small read of a comic. Read it, if not. See the movie.

Piggyback's the franchise without offering anything of substance.
Aside from the name and a couple of references it really has nothing to do with Silent Hill. Pretty much a second-rate graphic novel that gets by courtesy of the association with the game franchise. Artwork is ok-ish, but again has absolutely no similarity to the franchise. Not worth the money.

More Silent Hill tales
More scary tales of the quiet little humble town of Silent Hill....yeah right. Bloody town, killer town, deadly town, horror town. Don't go there, you will NEVER leave!! I love these stories, great artwork and stories.

the first 2 parts are good, the art in the 3rd is baad
well, i heard nothing but bad reviews for this so i figured the usual would happen... i would keep my expectations low and discard the whining from fan-atics and like it. and that's pretty much true. the art in the third story arch was so bad that i just zipped through it but the art by scott thomas in the first 2 parts is cool. the stories have their highs and lows but i dare anyone to come up with a full silent hill experience in a 50 page comic. and they do kind of follow a silent hill progression: you meet creatures which seem shaped by your own "issues" (as well as a few that are just odd), you have weapons but you don't prevail by fighting, you are never sure if what is happening really is or if you're dead, dreaming, or whatever... someone might seem to die then be alive again and you have to decide for yourself what it means... and then there is usually a surprise ending. thats silent hill.

Solid Stories
Three stories of varying quality; each works appropriately enough as a short comic- and the art is excellent for this- however, I feel each would be better as a short film. I'm trying to figure how how the writers of the comic are able to make stories so much better then SH: Homecoming in one comic book. That said, the stories don't go nearly as in-depth as I would like. This would be a downside, if I had to name one. They hint at other things, but never pursue them.

Nice Art
The art was great. Classic Silent Hill monsters in comic book form. But none of these stories were interesting to me and seemed like they just plopped random stories into Silent Hill.

Unremarkable
Silent hill; The town the boarders along the edges of all our fears, feeding off the stuff of nightmares, and the one that drinks despair for breakfast. That was what I expected anyway when I found the book. What I got was a confusing story plot that had the potential to be something amazing but was brutally cut off and another story began. It's not a bad book if you throw everything you know about silent hill into the wind. The art was a nice representation of silent hill. Cold, gritty and dark however this also played to the books downfall. You couldn't tell what was going on in some of the frames. It almost felt like the book equivalent to cloverfields shaky camera scenes. The story ,as I said before, ends abruptly. Just when you begin to think that the book can pull itself up from the pit it dug itself, the story ends. Killing any hope you may have had.So to sum everything up-Pros: interesting grudge artPotential story to harvest at a later date.New take on silent hillCons: frame flow was offNothing really latching you into the storyFrustrating.
