It is what you need
Perfect size for a diabetic's portable insulin kit. The only reason that it doesn't get 5 stars is because with age and repeated use, a pinhole can develop, making for a really big mess. Obviously nothing lasts forever, but sitting in a restaurant booth trying to get my insulin ready to use and having white goo oozing everywhere was not fun.

About 6 hours in an insulated pack.
These work great in the cold folder we use to keep meds cool while traveling. They are a liquid that freezes to a solid however, not a gel, so be sure they will fit your pack. I enclose each one in a 1/2 pint ziplock bag to help protect the fairly thin original covers, changing that as necessary. Two packs keep our wallet holder well cooled for 6 hours. By 8 the pack is coolish but the ice is gone and you need to switch out the bags.

The size is great for travel.
Size was nice. Didn’t stay frozen but did stay cold for hours in a diabetes bag while traveling. One was punctured easily.

TSA Compliant Gel Packs for 2017 USA to Europe Trip.
We bought these to be compliant with TSA Guidelines on our European Trip. Not only did we clear security without delay, the packs actually stayed frozen and kept the mediation cool until we reached the hotel 16 hours later.

Not 3 oz
A lot of air in the packs. I got these to replace the water packs in my insulin cooler, which half full of air takes more space that is needed, forcing the cooler open. I was able to cut them open and reseal using my vacuum sealer (not using the vacuum function.I also weighed them just because I had a scale handy(for loading bullets, so it's pretty precise) and the heaviest of the 4 that I got is 2.51oz before I removed the air. The other in that pack was 2.43. the last two, which I had already altered are 2.38 and 2.45. I don't know if the advertised weight is supposed to be net wt, but seeing as how they ware all more than 15% off including the plastic pack, I think some investment in quality control is warranted. Perhaps if the air was replaced with gel?
