Just READ IT!!!!
Ever since reading Neale Donald Walsch's "Tomorrow's God" whenever I see that he's written a new book, I just order it from Amazon.com......because I know its going to be GREAAAAAAAAAAAT!!! And "The Storm Before the Calm: Book 1 in the Conversations with Humanity" is not a disappointment!!! In fact, I can hardly wait to see what additional volumes in this series will bring. Just get the book!!!! Just READ it!!!! and then wait impatiently, like me, for the next one....

Peace
If you believe in the song lyric "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me", you will find this book right-on. People say that they believe in world peace but what can they as an individual do about it? Neale says to begin with yourself. And he sets out to explain. Just imagine if everyone just decided that they would concentrate on their own family and bring peace, love and harmony to right within their own walls. If every family did this, what would be the result? I found this book moving and informative.

This book is great for those of us who truly believe that all life is connected and that we, as humans, have not figured out how to use that knowledge to create peace in the world. Walsh is asking questions about our beliefs. He is asking each of us to create conversations with others that may be willing to question and explore those beliefs and possible alternatives. It is interactive. He would like everyone to go to his website to join in an internet 'conversation'.You must be 'open' to new ideas and all possibilities to fully appreciate what he is attempting to achieve and what he wants us to achieve....for the world!

Eh, I could have skipped this one.
I've read most of the CWG series and was excited to read this book, hoping for something completely new, but I have to admit I'm fairly disappointed.Beyond the idea of starting a world wide conversation about where we've been and where we are going there really aren't any new, exciting, thought provoking ideas. Just seemed like a lot of recapping of the CWG ideas. Also, I agree with another reviewer, citing Wikipedia as your source for information does not inspire a lot of confidence...but maybe I'm old fashioned about that.I suppose if you've never read any of his other books this would be great but if you have you shouldn't feel like you're going to be missing something if you skip this one...you won't be.

Wondered if the calm would ever come!
Seemed at times to be pulling teeth to get to the point. Seemed like Neale kept repeated ideas over and over. I found the end of the book had the real meat and potatoes of it.

Great Book Circle Book!
The Storm Before the Calm is a great book for a book circle ... each meeting we've read about 3 'conversations' (chapters. )Walsch presents questions that evoke lots of feeling as well as mindful consideration. This book has created more conversation than any book we've done recently! It's one I think everyone could read and benefit from.

yet another link on the journey
One day some years ago I received a chance message from a close friend informing me of an impromptu Seminar about to take place in London, it was to be held by Neale Donald Walsch whose first books on Conversations with God I had read. This I could not miss having felt so inspired by his writings and thoughts. It was certainly a day to remember and what I learned has become a part of my life - well folks if you would like to be part of the brave new world, if you are unhappy with the current patterns playing out in your life, or on the planet, if you are curious about what you might do to change those things which displease you then look no further than this exciting book which can be your passport to new times and places all of which is made so easy - have a look - decide on some different paths - I dare you!

Neale Donald Walsh reading his own work brings new life and insights.
I like NDW reading his own work, with actors (sometimes female) reading God's lines. This format animates his work beyong the written page.

Who are you and why are you here?
Walsch confronted me with 7 soulsearcing questions. By answering them I became more conscious of my place in the world and the path of my soul.
