Usb 3.0 and 3.1 gen1 are same connector. Usb 3.1 gen2 uses a completely different connector. So you should be fine.

Q: Is there an all black version?

I wish there were, but I could not find one. I used a black Sharpie and covered up the outside of the blue plastic part. It works pretty well, not a perfect color. Jayz2cents would probably paint it with some automotive paint, but us mere mortals use a Sharpie.
