Energizer CR2016 Lithium Battery 3V, Pack of 5

Put two stacked (so they should discharge evenly) into my keyfob. Both tested at about 3.3 volts. Two days later my fob stopped working. The batteries now tested 3.10 and 1.58 volts. Left the battery that tested 3.1v and added a "new" battery with it. One day latter the fob stopped working. One battery tested 3.10 (again) and the other tested at 1.60v. I purchase two packages... the remainder of the batteries went directly into recycling. It is HIGHLY unlikely these are Energizers. I fully expected GENUINE out-of-date batteries that still work fine, just don't last as long - that is not the case."Real" batteries could be weak when you get them but Energizer wouldn't put their name on anything that would discharge so quickly. Don't do it... I was warned but didn't listen. It was only $8 but I hate getting burned.

Really disappointed - all of them failed quickly. The dates were not stale, but I only got about 20-25% compared to store bought single packages. Value is great, but you will be changing 4-5 times more often. This will still save a lot of money, but the hassles is not worth it to me. Will avoid bulk packages like this in the future.

I’m impressed with the value of these batteries. Although I couldn’t find an actual ‘best if used before’ date, the packaging is marked “2016 Energizer” so they appear to be relatively fresh.I also looked up Energizer’s online product data sheet for the CR2016 lithium battery. It includes graphs detailing the battery’s simulated application test results, typical discharge characteristics, internal resistance characteristics and appropriate safety measures. Simply put, these pint-sized batteries pack a punch - they are small, lightweight and effective.*Energizer’s product data sheet responsibly emphasizes the importance of keeping these lithium coin batteries out of children’s reach. In addition to being a choking hazard, if accidentally ingested there’s a very short time window to get medical help. (Battery compartments for products that use these should either require a screwdriver or coin, or at least two independent and simultaneous movements to open the compartment).

Not much you can say about batteries. But I've purchased batteries from other vendors and they've arrived either packaged poorly, dead or both. Not so with this vendor. Well packaged batteries that work as expected. So far, I've only used 2 from the package as that's all I needed for my car-starter remote, but both of the batteries showed as 'good' on my tester and the price for the 5-pack was the same as the price for a single battery locally, so value is good. Will purchase again, when I finally need more.

Sadly, they lack an expiry date. However, they were freshly OEM vacuum sealed, and upon installation, the mini-lights brightness was outstanding…. Hopefully they are not excessively old?
