Tach-It6100-SS Semi-Automatic Definite Length Tape Dispenser

I currently own five of these for my home business (bookseller), and I'm about to purchase two more, so I thought I owed the company a review. I've been using these dispensers for about 5 months now and haven't had problems with any of them. I've used both the "double" tape and single tape configurations without any problems. I've used the machine with heavier plastic tapes and with paper masking tape successfully. The only tapes that I've had trouble with are thin plastic tapes (less than 3mm), which jam-up easily in the machine. The machine does leave a crinkle to the end of the tape, but not too bad.In comparison, I purchased a START International ZCM1000 machine and it jammed-up with EVERY tape that I tried, it put severe pressure-marks to the tapes (paper tape turned into a crinkled mess), in Auto mode the sensors would constantly malfunction and create huge tape-jam, plus it cost more and didn't have the double-tape option.The only minor issues that I've had with the machine are that the sensors will periodically become blocked when using the Auto function, so they need to be brushed-off after every few hours of operation. Sometimes the end of the tape will also catch on the rubber "tray" when it is ejected in Auto mode. To the company's credit the machine immediately senses this as a blockage and turns the Auto function off to prevent a large jam and a possible injury (the Start International machine isn't nearly as responsive and is in my opinion unsafe), but it is a little bit of a hassle to repeatedly reset the Auto function. Their measuring system works fine for me. I just find a length that works for each application, make a note of the setting, and that's that.

I'm worried about my gentle hands and bought this to help me wrap my holiday presents. I don't have many friends, so I don't have many gifts to package. But when I do, I pull out this Lamborghini of a tape dispenser. Nobody other than I knows that I use it, but it makes packaging impressive. Every tape length is precise. I don't have to worry about cutting my fingers on those metal teeth either. The machine spits out a pre-cut, perfectly sized piece of tape for me to use. All I do is reach over and apply it to my package. I also tried using bubble gum roll tape in this machine to see if I could get it to give me proportioned sizes of bubble gum. It did not work too well though. The machine got a little gummed up, if you know what I mean.
