perfect match for a pertronix ignitor II module. i had the oil filled one before, it started leaking and left me semi-stranded... had to swap in a old coil there on the road. anyway, went with the epoxy filled version this time. all seems good. it seems to run a little hotter, but i can't see any negative real world impact from it so far.

Got this for a pre-war LaSalle v8 and also replaced the points ignition. When I was tuning the car after install, I was hooking up inductive timing light and got a good shock just from being near the plug wire and leaning on car! Never had that with the old coil, so I can tell you this really does have more output.One thing is that this coil does run warm, while not exactly throwing flames - it will be hot to touch as its working. Epoxy filled should work great in this upside down application and any application. Does not come with a mount, which I had to buy as the original was welded on the coil.

Paired this cool with the pertronix 91589 igniter ll as recommended by pertronix. Installed both at same time and went out for 4 hour fishing trip. Engine was missing and back firing when I got back to dock. Pulled cap and found a melted mess. Not sure how it was even running. Called pertronix and they actually told me it was due to a bad cap, and it couldn't be there products doing it. Put on new cap and rotor, changed cool back to standard one from sierra and never had another problem.
