The best for softer skin…and leather furniture
Aquafor is THE best salve for dry skin and chapped lips. When I first bought the big jar of it, I thought, “this will last me a lifetime!” In fact, I’ve bought a couple more since then. Elbows and heels aren’t dry and cracked anymore.Just before I donated an old leather sofa, I tried smearing Aquafor on a dried, flaky area, and it absorbed entirely, so I kept adding some and rubbing it into the old leather and after a couple of days and a couple of coats, the leather became soft and supple again. So…I kept it!

Pharmacist recommended! I've recommended it many times as a pharmacist and use it myself.
Aquaphor Healing Ointment is one of the best ointments you could buy, with or without a prescription. It has many uses, from dry skin to minor burns and cuts. The petrolatum in Aquaphor along with some of the other ingredients provide a nice skin barrier which can be used even in sensitive skin areas and helps retain moisture and promotes faster healing. Aquaphor's petrolatum is oil based and as a result, it protects skin better than water based products. While it does go on a little greasy and slippery, it protects much better than creams that simply rub into your skin. For twenty plus years I have recommended Aquaphor as a pharmacist to those looking for various types of topical relief, but recently needed to use it myself and it did its job well, helping me heal quicker and possibly even lowering my risk for infection due to its activity and protection. Good luck.

Plastic Jar Gets Oily After Using to Close Then Slippery Open Next Usage
Best for cracked and chapped hands and blistery fingers due to constant cleaning and handiwork. I garden a lot and also an overzealous hand-washer. This stuff is expensive but it works well to heal the cracked fingers. But still cannot use my phone fingerprint security as my fingers composition alters too much from chapped to heal but then back to chapped again. Only complaint is that I really do not like the plastic jar with turning cap. Prefer the tube. Seriously, why would you want to get oily hands then proceed to close the jar, and then next usage it is too slippery for opening. Who made this decision at Aquaphor corporate R&D? No common sense! I prefer the cheaper Amazon brand version also, in the squeeze tune version. But neither was available, and my very dry hands needed as I used up all of my previous Amazon brand tube. Next time, no plastic jar for me, no matter what though.

Works great, but, why so expensive?
Been working on some calluses on my heels.... scrape, scrape, slather with this stuff and put on some socks to walk around the house. Fixed up my feet in about a week. Now use 2-3x/week to maintain the goodness...Not sure why this is so expensive, but, I didn't find it any cheaper anywhere else... Works great.

Very effective for dry skin and Psoriasis
I have very dry skin and Psoriasis and this helps so much. Not only does it help with the dry cracking skin on my hands and elbows but the Psoriasis scales, redness, and itching on my arms are significantly lessened and clear faster. I am very sensitive to chemicals and this does not bother me like many other products and there is no fragrance which is a major plus. I purchased it in the tubes first then went back for this larger container, even though I only have to use a small amount I use it daily so a larger container is a better buy. Another great use is my dry brittle gray hair. I put a very small amount onto my palm and rub my hands together and work this lightly through my damp hair after a shower. My hair is shiny and soft and no longer lifeless looking.
