Well built, light weight, strong, super smooth, comfortable, and sexy looking too!
Singularly the best spinning reel I've owned so far! I'm a budget angler - low income with family, so fishing takes second or third place to other budget considerations (or 18th or 19th place sometimes), and I stretched out of my usual zone for this one. I'm so glad I did. From the minute I picked it up, I could feel a remarkable difference in quality compared to the dozens of Zebco, Shimano, Quantum and Piscifun reels I've had experience with in the past. This thing is built well! It's a solid reel with a fast retrieve. Drag is great, bail wire is just the right size, foot and arm are solid, and it feels good in the hand. Extremely light weight, super smooth, comfortable, and sexy looking too! I can't give enough praise to my Ceymar. I paired it with a Berkley Lightning Rod and it has held up to about 12-15 fish so far, including a nice 36" pike which fought like crazy! I look forward to catching many, many more.

Okuma reels always easy to use
Reel is lightweight and smooth. spooled with 8lb braid. drag runs well and after a few trips with this it has performed great on Aussie estuary species. Good reel especially for this price range.

Great Reel for the Price
I got this reel to replace an old Shimano for trout fishing. The Shimano finally gave out after about a decade of use, and I decided to give Okuma a try since I’ve been pretty satisfied with one of their of their baitfeeders that I recently purchased for catfish, and this reel is no different. The Ceymar reels run a little smaller than some other brands, so I got a slightly larger size and it suits my purposes well. It’s lightweight, the bail arm doesn’t click down mid-cast, and the retrieve is pretty smooth. The drag system is responsive enough that even a small turn will switch you from peeling drag to retrieving, even while you have a fish on.That said, the reel doesn’t seem like it will last nearly as long as a higher end product. I’m partial to Shimano reels for their durability, but they also come with a price tag to match. For the cost of this reel, I have to say that Okuma has surprised me for a company that has had a spotty reputation in the past. I’m optimistic that with semi-regular maintenance I’ll be able to get at least a few years out of this product, and if I do, I might just be a new Okuma convert. If you’re looking to make an upgrade from that Walmart combo that you learned to fish on, I would think twice before shelling out the money for one of the more major brands and give these guys a shot! At this price point, even an experienced angler will be impressed with the quality you’ll get for the money.
