OLDSHANGHAI Women's Satin Kimono Robe Short - Floral

I was running late for an over-night trip that started with a to a dinner-and-cocktails function, realized that I had forgotten to pack this robe, so I just tossed this on over this purple dress  PattyBoutik Women's Sleeveless Blouson Maxi Dress (Dark Purple L)  and I figured that I'd stick it into my bag once I got to the hotel.However, when I arrived at the hotel, I was met by several friends who were there for the event, so I didn't get a chance to pack away the robe. I had to laugh as I was being showered in compliments on my lovely kimono! HA! Until I told them what happened, no one even realized that I was wearing a ROBE (To be fair, I wasn't wearing the belt - it was in my pocket)!What a happy mistake!I've worn it as a jacket a few times since and I always get compliments :)Anyway, it's really, really nice quality, especially at this price! Now I want an aqua one, too!It's actually even prettier than in the photo.It's NOT scratchy, it IS super beautiful fabric - the print almost looks dimensional! You'd have to see it up close to understand what I mean.All the seams are straight and sturdy - even the pockets (which come in handy) No loose threads.Yes, you can MACHINE WASH AND DRY! I've washed it on gentle, dried on low heat a few times already and it has always come out perfect. Really, I think it will last a long time.** Fit: I'm 5'8, about 165 - 170 and it fits me nicely. Unlike most things, the belt loops actually made the belt hit at my natural waist.It also has an inner tie, which I could tie about 1/2 way (my tummy is swollen right now), so you could be smaller or larger than I am and it will still fit you.*** I rely heavily on reviews when choosing items, so I try to write ones that I would find helpful.If you found it helpful, please consider clicking the "thumbs up" so I know that I'm on the right track! I ordered the Short Robe in Peacock to replace an old, similar robe. I couldn't find anything similar in local clothing stores. I was very pleased with the quality of the fabric and stitching, especially for the price. The seams are well sewn, and the fabric is very similar to my old robe. The Peacock color is absolutely gorgeous - even nicer than I expected from the photograph. If I'm happy with it after a few washings, I will order another one - probably one of the colors that come with side-seam pockets, just for the variety.A few notes:This color comes with patch pockets on the front. Some colors come with pockets in the side seams. If you look at the name of the color when selecting them, the ones with side seam pockets say "(on seam pocket)" - currently that's Dusk, Jade, Lapis Blue and Light Pink. If you get a color with patch pockets, be aware that the fabric pattern on the pocket will not line up with the fabric on the rest of the robe. I don't have a problem with that, but if it would bother you, you might want a side-seam version.There are 5 1/2" side slits that aren't shown in the photos. They're tacked at the bottom of the slits, like pleats/vents on a skirt often come, so I suppose you can snip the threads to open the slit.I am 5'7" with a 36" bust, and usually wear pants that are size 10-12. The robe fits fine - because of the kimono sleeves, it will easily fit a larger bust. The fit is fine for me in the hips, though I wouldn't want it to be much smaller. It might be OK for up to size 14, but I probably wouldn't recommend it for anyone larger than that. The robe falls a little above my knees.On my old robe, the fabric was so slippery that the robe kept opening despite the tie. I ended up sewing a small snap on the inside of the right front edge, and the outside of the robe at the left waist area, so I could snap the right front piece closed at the left waist area. So far, this robe doesn't seem to have as much of an issue with slipping, but if it does, I'll just add a snap.

I had a teal robe like this before and I gave it away when I was cleaning my closet. I quickly regretted it!For years, I have thought..... wow, that was really pretty... why did I get rid of it?! I bought a red satin robe with black flowers, but it wasn't the same.Now I have a similar robe back thanks to this wonderful seller Old Shanghai!The robe is very nice with lush satin fabric. The length is above the knee. (I'm 5'6") There are two belt loops and two pockets. Belt is included.I got the "peacock" color which is teal. The pattern with the white and pink flowers is very pretty. I like the pattern's peacock bird which has pale pink tail feathers... the tail looks especially silky in the light.I'm 125 lbs and the size is big, but when belted the extra fabric isn't a problem.The only thing I'm not crazy about is the sleeves. They are 3/4 sleeves and really wide! But I guess that's the "kimono" feel of it. I suppose it's good that they are only 3/4 length because then my hands aren't drowning in the extra fabric.Overall...... it's so pretty!And I'm keeping it for a long time.

This is a flattering kimono that I feel would look good on anyone. I am 5'2 130lbs and it fits perfect on me. It goes down to my knees and the sleeves are 3/4 length on me which I like. The feel of this kimono is nice and silky which will glide on your skin. I wanted this for a robe to wear around the house during the summer because it is light-weight and if I get a sunburn, this will not irritate it.The design itself is exactly like what is pictured and looks so feminine. There were some strains of thread that were loose, but I just cut them off and none of the stitching has unraveled which is good.

I'm 5'4'' 120lbs and the robe fits very well. Covers everything without to much excess fabric. I'm hesitant purchasing one-size fits all garments, but feel that this robe truly fits a wide range of sizes. The Peacock color is gorgeous! The fabric is a bit stiff out of the package, but having worn it a couple of times it's already loosening up and feels nice. t's lightweight and hits just above my knees. The pockets are a nice touch.
