Best chess game for young kids ever!
This is a truly magnificent game. It teaches the basics of chess in a simple and child friendly way. My daughter loves the stories, and laughs each time we read them. The additional option to add the characters from the stories to the chess pieces is a lovely touch.The mini games provide a great build up enabling young children to understand the moves of the chess pieces without getting confused. The final suggestion of an almost complete game chess without worrying about tactics needed for check and check mate is perfect for my daughter's age and capabilities.The board itself is great. I love the double sides with one being a traditional chess board and one having grass to complement the stories as well pictures of characters showing where each piece starts making setting up easy.We've had many hours of fun with this game and I am sure we will have many more. There are two expansion packs (level 2: strategy and level 3: tactics) which look equally as excellent. Unfortunately they do not seem to be available to buy in the UK so I've had to order from elsewhere (not yet received) but I am sure they will be equally as excellent.

Helps young children learn how to play with ease!
My 5 year old loves it. This game makes it so much easier for her to understand the pieces, movements and strategies of the game!

Great Game for kids

Good idea, poor execution - quality control needed
The concept of the game is good and it's helping the kids learn chess, which they wanted, but the quality of the product is poor. We ordered one set that came with 4 pawns missing so arranged a replacement using minifigures to stand in for the missing black pawns in the meantime (not ideal especially when they're still figuring out how the pieces work) and some of the cardboard cut outs were impossible to remove without damage. The replacement arrived with only 1 white bishop and 3 white rooks, so again we didn't get a full, usable chess set. Luckily we'd held off on returning box one and between the two boxes we have been able to make up a complete set but what a waste of plastic.
