Great video quality, app/instructions somewhat lacking - custom button is annoying!
The dashcam functionality works great. Seems like solid construction, and the built-in low-voltage cutoff (adjustable from 11.8 to 12.5VDC) is nice, and seems to work as intended. You can also set a time-based shutdown period (1 hour increments up to 8 hours) so that the camera will either turn off at the voltage threshold OR after a set amount of time ( The app wifi connection is buggy and slow, but can be managed with a little patience. Like all dashcams, the manual is lacking - it's better than some I've seen, but it's not always clear what a setting will do by turning it off or on, or making an adjustment (would be great if the app had a description of what each function does). For example, you can set the sensitivity of impact detection in x,y, and z axes - there is a menu slider from 1-10. Nowhere does it say which is the more sensitive end of the scale - does a higher number mean more likely to trigger, or a lower number? (my use seems to indicate that a lower number is less sensitive). You can set the custom button to either: switch mute on/off, OR trigger a manual recording. This is nice, but it is a very strange button. It is not a physical push button, you actuate it by holding your hand about an inch away from it for a few seconds - this is totally NOT intuitive or easy while you are driving! Sometimes it's hard to hear the voice confirmation when you trigger a manual recording - I would have preferred just a simple push button.I have not tried the cloud functionality. As others have mentioned, you can save money if you buy the 32G camera and add your own higher-memory SD card - I am using a Sandisk SDSQUA4-256G-GN6MA with no problems (use the camera to format the card).

Great Hardware, Debatable Cloud platform.
Very happy with camera, hardware and tech seems excellent. But still cant log onto Cloud service view anything. I bought the camera as a redundancy in the event of theft or driving situation. Im not concerned about viewing things all the time, but not once? The camera and App UI and interface is simple but cant get it to work. Also 2021 LT1 camera unlimited hotspot via ATT and cant connect to cloud? I work online via my car, online connectivity is quite robust, so this is disappointing.Im leaving 4 which might seem rich given my comments, but Im happy with the 2ch camera, and hopefully this is just App issues which can be updated and developed. Look fwd to it.If BlackVue could do some consumer videos on YouTube and tutorials on usage and understandability would be excellentThk you BlackVue

Solid dash cam, but it arrived used
Wanted to buy a good quality front and rear dashcam as bad drivers and red light runners seem to be growing more rampant in my area. Settled on this one as BlackVue was a reputable and established brand in the dashcam market and this camera’s quality, features, and price all aligned with my goals and budget.Camera got here quickly, but when opening it, it looked like the original seal was broken and taped over. Box was in good condition, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and just assumed that someone had opened it to do a quality check or something.Continued unboxing and everything looked brand new, it had the plastic wrap on it as well as new 3M tape mounts so I thought nothing about it.Continued with my install, loosely wiring up the back and front cams and went to plug it into my cigarette lighter to test it out. Interestingly, when the camera powered on, it said something out loud in Spanish, which I thought was weird. I again ignored this because I thought it was just doing the thing that some tech does where it cycles through a phrase like “do this to get started” in multiple languages. Finally, I noticed that something was awry when I connected to the camera in the app and the device already had a name that a user had set on it before, because it definitely was not something default like “BlackVue DR750.” When I connected to it, there were already several videos of the previous owner’s car parked on a residential street and also clips of them driving. To make matters worse, the previous owner had set a password and a username on the device that you can show…in other words I could now view actual login credentials for some random person’s account. What if they used those same credentials elsewhere? The videos showed their car parked at, what I assume, was their residence. Just from looking at the video, I could make out a house number and a street sign, so now I have that user’s address. While the camera itself is pretty solid, I’m extremely disappointed that what is hailed as a reputable and trustworthy brand has 1) sold me a used product for the price of a new product and under the assumption I was buying a new product, and 2) failed to securely wipe the previous user’s data, exposing their home address and a set of unencrypted credentials. I went with BlackVue to avoid dealing with shady dashcam companies, and I end up with the very same issue I tried to avoid. The camera itself is solid. It does what I need it to and does it well. For that reason, I am not returning it, but I am still utterly disappointed in the service and reputability of the company. I expected more from BlackVue. I will use this camera (not connected to LTE or BlackVue Cloud — look up “BlackVue cloud privacy”) until it dies or stops working, then buy a product from a different company.P.S. If anyone out there is reading this, I would suggest formatting the SD card and wiping the camera if you decide to return it.
