best CB radio ever.... it's an ok ham radio
this is one GREAT RADIO! I have talked all over the world with this radio... very powerful it has great ears and receives fantastic! ... it has the "NRC" Noise reduction technology that is now a total game changer in the radio world, NRC came out in 2022. it removes most of the background noise so you can hear what people are saying even from very far away.... with all the background noise/static/hiss you can hardly hear anything... turn on the NRC and the hiss is gone and you just hear the people you want to talk to... and with 60 watts you can easily talk to them!!!! I have talked to France from Massachusetts with the NRC on...if I turn the NRC off all I hear is static.... so as I said it's a total game changer!even talking to low powered CB's that have a cheap antenna from far away i'm able to make out what they say with the NRC. it also has weather channels. and all the needed dials are still right on the front easily adjusted.for a CB you do an easy modification that you can see on youtube... it's the best CB ever!!!! as for a ham radio it's an entry radio into ham.... so most people use them as a CB.you really can't go wrong with this radio.

Great radio super easy to use
Had to get a replacement radio for my new truck as my Ranger would not fit. The Anytone 5555 is the same size format as a Cobra or Uniden CB - so if you are constrained by the width size as I was then you shouldn't have any problems with the Anytone 5555.It is super easy to convert to 11 meter. There are numerous vids on how to do it and the mod does not take any tech skill. I did the mod in less than 20 minutes. Hooked up radio - works just fine. The menu is a little difficult to figure out but there is really no reason to go into it other than to enable the Weather Alert notifications.I didn't have any issues with SWR - didn't really need calibration. I did a few test calls and was able to reach out 50+ miles with no problems. 10 meter will take a little more work with the noise gate and clarification. Overall I am very happy with this radio and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a 10 meter high power radio that can easily be modded into the 11 meter band.

Great Radio !
After using it for 6 months, I realize it is a top contender for talking Ham and CB. I have talked all over the world with no modifications to this radio. It is as advertised! A great radio.

Excellent, CB radio for the price
I have a couple of people in my local area that have this same radio, and they sang its praises so I got one and I’m extremely happy that I did because I have heard everyone complain about the other radios that they’ve had, but none of them have had any issue with the quad Five. It’s a pretty elegant looking machine and it’s menu driven so if not a whole slew of buttons and switches that can get accidentally knocked or hit. The display is clear and can be seen from almost any angle and it gives you a lot of information. The nicest thing at this radio has is an actual SWR gauge on the screen that is active all the time so you don’t have to go into the menu to check your SWR. The transmit and receive clarity are also very good on this radio. I have demoed a QT 40 radio and well that one sounds a bit nicer. The operation of it feels less streamlined unit not to mention this one puts out more power at around 40 to 50 W so if you pair it with a quality antenna and get your SWR set correctly, you should be able to talk overseas when weather conditions are right amplification necessary. The only reason I didn’t give it. Five stars is that I’m not thrilled about is the connector that they use for the Microphone, which it can be replaced with any cat 6 Cable fairly easily but it’s annoying that it doesn’t have a universal for pin connector to be able to swap with other radios but thankfully the microphone sounds pretty good and works well, but you have to get replacements from AliExpress for this radio the mic or to break that or you would need to know how to solder and work with electrical components. Overall, I would definitely consider getting this radio again and if it weren’t for the annoying proprietary microphone cable, I would say this is the perfect radio for the price so hopefully they’ll update it with a Four pin microphone jack.

10 meters to CB
Nice radio with a lot of empty space inside. Could have made it a bit smaller but you have room to add things if that's what you want to do. Good TX and RX audio with supplied mic. I'm happy with it.

Many Features, but Quality Is A Problem
It works and has a lot of features, but it's nowhere near the quality of Japanese/Taiwan/US type of radios. The transmit audio is quite dirty and channel rejection is subpar.PROS-Has a lot of features including noise reduction (although it has problems)-Large LCD screen, easy to see-CTCSS and tone squelching repeater offset functions-Decent power output (But not be the cleanest)CONS- The transmit audio (SSB) at first seems good, but it really is not. Very dirty compared to HF rigs- No backlight on the buttons- Receiver channel rejection is terrible.- Cheap plastic knobs- Cheap microphone- The chassis covers don't fit properly and there is a 1/8 gap on the back of the radio- Modes don't track with the band selections (You have to set mode manually, no memory)I have had this radio and been using for about 3 months, I suppose for the price it's not too bad. But with the transmit audio/driver bias I would be concerned it's not the cleanest radio out there. The noise reduction works surprisingly well, however when you transmit and let off the key, the NR stops working (decay) for a few seconds. My biggest complaint really is how poor the transmit quality is, and I have noticed that driving it to full power makes it worse.

This is a great radio at a terrific price!
I’ve been a ham to 50 years. I’ve seen a lot of junk. Come across my desk, but this is not junk. It is a really really good radio. Buy them while they’re still available!
