I have never reviewed anything online before but felt I had to with this item. It’s does not work at all and I would not recommend buying it.

Great idea. Works like it should. Over time though the bamboo starts splintering. Be sure to treat with some kind of oil on it before use and about every 6 months if used often.

No, seriously this could be best working, best looking, longest lasting cutter out there. I bought mine off ebay, same price as here. Everything fits tightly together very well as it should. This thing could be in your family for 100 years, it's not going to snap or break without enormous effort. Bamboo is IDEAL for this application. I did give it 4-5 stars for value for money though, it carries a hefty price, a plastic one would work nearly as well. But it's Soooooo much cooler to display your bread on the table with this, looks like a magazine cover. We just leave the bred in it (in clear plastic bag), and cut a sclive when we want one.
