Dorman523-266 Front Rack and Pinion Mount Bushing Compatible with Select Chevrolet / GMC Models

Pressed out the old ones with a large socket and 6” C-clamp.. pressed in these pretty easy using the same method. Easy fix for shaky steering.

We'll see how they hold up, time will tell.

Installed these bushings on my 06 GMC Sierra 1500 2WD.Was installing these to get rid of a front end clunk I got during turning and backing up to a stop. (turns out it was possibly just a loose bolt/nut)I left the rack and pinion up on the truck, took me about 4 hours. Hardest part was removing the bushing, they were still in good condition so I had to pry them out with a big flat head screw driver little by little.Bushings seem to be good quality. Tight fit. This job saved me $800 to replace the entire steering rack quoted by Firestone. Did the job for $13 and 4 hours of my time.

Replaced rack and pinion on '05 Silverado and found that my mounting hardware was literally wore out. I ended up just using part of this kit since the new rack had the bushings already installed. Everything worked fine.

Fit perfect. Wasn’t to hard to replace. I used a ball joint press to take out the old and put in the new. About a 2 hour job since I left the rack on the truck.
