China is leveraging their CNC machines to produce very good quality and consistent builds in guitars these days. After filing the fret ends for 1/2 hour to round them with a simple emery nail file (which weren't that bad compared to 2 name brand guitars I have but now are better than those), and dialing in each saddle height (started low, then checked all frets and raised until all buzzing stops), and then intonation (pitch same at open and 12th octave fret, again, adjust saddles in/out) and you get a very playable guitar. First considerations for upgrades would be tuning pegs (one was noticeable harder to turn, but was able to get it in tune) and pickups since better ones will have a richer tone. Overall happy to have bought though since I wanted a Strat style. Now wish they made a Baritone electric!

Honestly I wasn’t expecting much when I saw the box it came it. The box was totally trashed and I was scared to open it. Luckily the guitar wasn’t majorly damaged. My guitar has some cosmetic scratches at the bottom but nothing too off putting. The only thing that gets me is the massive booty hole mark on the front of my guitar. Its a Decent guitar. Plays well, needs to be tuned out of box and holds tone pretty well after the first few plays. Great for a starter guitar. Some minor dents on the back of the neck but nothing to write home about. I haven’t plugged it up to amp yet but will update when I do.

TL:DR = a decent guitar with solid foundations that with some TLC is a great beginner guitar or modification platform but requires a professional set-up. Just know what you're getting into and you won't be disappointedThe good: Fundamentally a solid guitar with good finishing. Neck was seated well, frets weren't popping out, no major construction issues. Sounds "strat-like" as intended. Neck feels good finish wise and has more of a classic profile than say an equivalent Squier.The Meh: A few little black spots in the finish that are mostly unnoticeable unless inspecting close up.The Bad: You need to know how to or be willing to pay a professional to set this guitar up. It's a good basic guitar but doesn't get a solid set up in the factory; it comes playable and that's it. Nothing was tightened up much; loose tuners, screws loosely tightened in pickguard, etc. While frets were trimmed and lightly dressed, they were a bit rough at the edge of the fingerboard and definitely need polishing as they play (and sound) gritty from the factory.Finally, the guitar arrived with what appears to be factory tooling marks on the headstock that just didn't get caught in the loose QC, shipper refunded me $18 (roughly 1/5th) for the blemish.All that said, for the asking price and the price of a set-up, it's still a good deal.I'm basically using the body and neck as a platform for a heavily modified version of this guitar with new everything
