Pieces missing!
I started off really enjoying building this, then i couldnt find pieces, i continued on using different coloured pieces of the same size and thought it was a one off, i was wrong, the same pieces were missing again, so i used what i had, untill i got to the stage(after hours of building) i got stuck! I went through every single piece! 1 by 1, it wasnt there, got so pissed off with it i chucked in the bin!

Challenging but excellent!
I was sent this set to test out that allows for the construction of both a racing car model and a transforming robot. This collectible display model set, comprising 1208 pieces, is targeted at boys and girls aged 8-12 and is part of the new 2023 line up. I decided my son would love this so was given the task of testing this toy out with me.As we delved into building the set, the first thing that struck me was the sheer number of pieces. The 1208 components offer a complex and engaging building experience for the right age group, which is fantastic for developing problem-solving skills and patience in children. The pieces are well-made and fit together smoothly, and are good quality. The ability to build either a racing car or a robot with the same set of pieces adds significant value, as it essentially provides two toys in one.The instructions included in the kit are clear and detailed, making the building process manageable for the target age group. However, due to the complexity and number of pieces, some children in the younger end of the age spectrum might need occasional assistance from an adult.Once constructed, both the racing car and the robot are impressive in terms of their size and aesthetics. They make for good display models and are sturdy enough for play. The transformation mechanism between the car and robot is cleverly designed, too. It's important to note that this kit is not just a toy but also an educational tool. It aligns well with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) principles, teaching children about construction, mechanics, and spatial awareness in a hands-on manner. However, due to the complexity and small parts, this kit may not be suitable for children under the age of 8 – so I suggest stick to the age range suggested.Overall, I think this toy is excellent value. 5/5.

Don't waste your money
My 8 Yr old struggled with this build. He brought it himself and is very disappointed. Quality is as expected, thin cheap pieces (obviously not lego), the instructions were not easy with unclear diagrams, when you do get sections built others fall apart when trying to connect sections together. We finally got the car built but is continuously fell into 2 pieces. Instructions to transform into a robot are another 32 pages of instructions! Don't bother and safe up for the real stuff. 2 stars are for the pieces being able to be used for own builds.

Would not recommend if you lack patience
I wasn’t expecting it to be the best quality due to it not being from the brand Lego, however I was very disappointed with it. I had to rebuild one part 6 times as when joining the pieces it all fell apart. I am unable to transform it into a transformer without it falling apart and having to rebuild parts. It does look like a nice car on my shelf, but would only recommend if you want to look at it.

Excellent gift for a 12 year old
Ordered this for my 12 year old Grandson who loves all things made by that well known building brick manufacturer. The pieces are not as 'perfect' as the branded products but that is to be expected for a compatible kit & it's definitely on par with other non branded items I've bought in the past. Official transforming kits retail at £100+ for a similar size & with this coming in at a third of that cost, it's a really good alternative for children that don't mind kits that are not branded, especially when they realise they can get 3 toys like this for the price of 1 branded one! There are over 1200 pieces so it is more suited to the older of the age range & I can imagine that an 8 year old would get a bit frustrated with all the building stages but that's no different from any other large kit. We are very pleased with this & it is good value for money for what it is. If you want every piece to be perfectly formed & a perfect fit & to be minutely tried & tested then it's not the product for you. If you want the top spec then you have to pay top whack but this is a really good alternative.

Good fun but a little flimsy
Had good fun building this, but when transforming it needs a bit of rebuilding which is not ideal.
