Brilliant product very popular as a backup and transfer for those doing video filming.
Apparently LaCie is a premium brand of Seagate. They use a top rated disk drive (spinning or SSD) and place it in their own aluminium enclosure that is again surrounded by a bright orange rubber bump strip. Use them for my backups so I can easily store them safely away (household fire safe) and not worry about them suffering the odd knock or two.

I already own LaCie hard drives; 4gb Thunderbolt, 20gb 5Big Thunderbolt so, when I needed a portable drive for backing up photos and videos whilst on assignment, LaCie was my first choice. I’ve used this drive throughout the year with absolutely no issues. It’s quick enough, and has never left me down as a backup when out and about. The rubber protective skin is handy for some protection if you were to drop it. There’s not much else to say other than, if you need a portable external drive, you should seriously consider this. If I needed an additional drive I’d buy another one of these.

Great hard drive!!!
This hard drive is amazing! It’s fast and looks lovely with the orange rubber case. Below the fancy rugged case is a standard lacie drive but it’s thin and quiet!I got the 2tb version and for £70 it was a bargain

Best hard drive I've had so far.
Have been using this hard drive for two years now for my film course (so big files) and it has loads of stockage still left. Great drive but make sure not to spill water on the type C plug it comes with, it is quite sensitive! Would still recommend.

Faulty after 2 yrs 8mths use. New purchase necessary
Bought in Feb 2021 to regularly backup a MacBook Air 13” laptop. Suddenly stopped working on 24 Aug 2023; will not load on laptop. Apple Store diagnostic tests on both devices revealed fault with LaCie device (but cable is ok). Annoyed that another £95 spend is necessary to replace…..

This drive is good. Easy to set-up. Had it for a while now and works perfectly.
