2007 Wrangler X 3.8L
Looking at replacing the drive shaft on your Wrangler? I was too. After seeing the cost, I was desperate to cut costs and bought 1 of these. After replacing 1 of these joints on the rear driveshaft, I ended up buying 2 more to replace the second rear driveshaft one and the one on the front driveshaft. Comes with new boot, new bearing, grease, new bolts and u brackets. Would definitely recommend buying long Allen head sockets. You need the long ones to not hit the edges causing you to round off the bolt heads. I think the size was 1/4" allen. May be good to add that information to the item description.

Failed and damaged my drive shaft, now have to replace both.
I replaced both of the joints when I noticed the factory boot was worn and starting to lose grease. I ordered and replaced both joints with this CV joint sold on Amazon. After a little less than 8k miles the front joint next to the transfer case failed at highway speeds and resulted in damage to the drive shaft and the inside of the transfer case yoke. The pictures are of the front of the drive shaft that pushed forward after the joint failed and contacted the inside of the case yoke. In the 10 -15 seconds it took to get the Jeep in Neutral and coast to the side of the highway, the front of the drive shaft that is cut out for the retaining clip was completely worn off. Only indication of impending failure was a few pops and then failure bang with subsequent grinding as the inner race spun free from the rest of the joint. I do not believe the joint failed from lack of grease due to the amount of fesh grease slung on the bottom of the Jeep after the failure. Also there are no signs of discoloration, baked on grease ect that point toward lack of lubrication and overheating. This Jeep is never taken off road and had not been in 4WD since the installation of the new joints. The rear joint (same part and replaced at same time) was perfectly intact and the damage to the flange seen in the pictures happened during the disassembly process and removal. Both joints came well packaged and truly had everything needed to complete the job. I chose these joints because of the customer rating and how fast Amazon could deliver them. Since this Jeep is only used for driving around town and not any real off roading, I didn't think the double expense of the Teraflex joints was worth it. Now that this failure has caused so much damage beyond the joint itself I really wish I had gone with the more expensive joint the first time.

Fit my 2007 JKU just fine.
Fits my 2007 JKU fist fine and seems to be decent quality. Important to know if your jeep is lifted this will likely happen again. The rubber boot that holds the grease in and protects the bearings from dirt rubs and becomes damaged due to the angle of the drive shaft on a lifted jeep. There are other joints that are better suited for lifted jeeps. This is the cheapest option but who knows how long it will last in a lifted jeep that is using 4x4 often. Easy to find info on Google or YouTube.
