This little Workhorse has been around forever! *I know, I have owned this exact same Region-Free DVD player (MediaSonic) for many, many years, located in my Cinema Room next to my new 75 inch Vizio Big Screen TV. ...So, when I saw this brand-new DVD player from OREI? .., I instantly recognized this particular Model.. ~ I ordered this one, right away! ~ WHY? ...*I realized, with some s.m.a.r.t. HDTVs when-playing Classic Old Movies & Television Shows, they won't let 4k high-definition players Change Screen-Resolution, always stuck with those Black BARS on each side of the Screen? (yuk!) I have found, with this little Region-Free Dvd Player, on my Vizio smart HDTV, I can alter the Resolution to Panoramic and Zoom or whatever! One of those little "intangibles"*Another, is the ability to COPY any Music CD onto USB memory stick, making my CD collection much more flexible. *Lastly, the open/closing mechanism for the DVD/CD is smooth, powerful & Quick. (*not wimpy!)I just LOVE this little DVD player (oldschool). Designed & Manufacture BEFORE the Pandemic-Economy with all those overpriced "cheaper" models coming-out these days!I am confident, no matter what New fangled Music-Playing device is invented? For years & years to come, I will always have the ability to Watch my extensive MOVIE COLLECTION on my Big Screen with NO fees, NO memberships & NO internet-Connection necessary! (simple)FREE to WATCH & LISTEN in peace! (popcorn anybody!)

I bought this player when I saw that one of my all time favorite movies was on DVD but only in Region 2 which is European format and I live in the US. So I bought this DVD player so that I could order that and have it in my collection again. Let me tell you I have not for one second regretted that choice. It plays any disc perfectly, no vibration or noise from the player and the remote control works perfectly. I also love that you can adjust the brightness and contrast from the setup menu which is something that most portable DVD players on the market don't offer. I received the Region 2 DVD that I ordered yesterday and popped it into the player and it started playing immediately with no hesitation and the quality and sound were absolutely amazing. I also love the ability to watch a movie with or without headphones. I already have a friend from the UK sending me a box set of a British TV show that I like and I plan on ordering other DVDs from around the world now that I have the ability to watch them. Thank you for putting out such a good quality product for a great price!

Perfect! I was skeptical that such a low-cost DVD player would work properly and have decent picture quality, but- it looks fine!At first, the remote I received wasn’t working very well, even with fresh batteries and holding it close to the machine, but I emailed the seller, and they sent a new one immediately, and it works perfectly! I never mind when there’s an unexpected problem and the customer service is easy and speedy to resolve the issue. Thanks Bombay Electronics!My only complaint is that the player doesn’t come with an HDMI cable (though, it does say in the product description that it only comes with the RCA cable, so no false advertising, but it does seem like a player with an HDMI port should come with the cable since more TVs are now equipped with that feature.)Really, really compact size- barely bigger than an old CD Walkman! Lol!I have played region 1,2&3 DVDs in it and they all work with no issues.I recommend this DVD player for easy, quick set-up, low cost, and quality functionality.

Liked- the small size, the fact that it worked, the priceDisliked- the loud buzzing (was louder when player was level so stuffed wadding under one corner until buzzing softened...but it's never gone); it did not work intermittently ("no disc" message); it stopped completely after 3 years and 1 mo. ( "loading" forever).Conclusion- accept that all electronics are built with limited life span and enjoy it while it lasts

This player plays all formats and is very easy to connect and setup. I did it in under five minutes (80 years old). The remote is not what one would expect because it is designed to handle dvd's, cd's but that said, is still easy to use although the buttons are somewhat small. Would definitely recommend and buy again.

I guess it's true, you get what you pay for. After an unsuccessful purchase with another brand, bought this little guy based on its ratings. Was excited because now I can watch my German films... or so I thought. After 3 months and maybe 10 uses, went to use it again, and it refused to turn on. At first I thought it was a faulty outlet so I tried plugging it into other outlets, nope it's broken. So, after maybe 10 uses it's useless, and its past the return window, so in the trash it goes. Disappointing. Back to the search for a reliable region-free player.Update 11.27.2024 - After writing my original review, the company reached out and apologized for the faulty unit and offered me a refund. The fact they reached out to apologize surprised me, as most companies can't be bothered. To me, they've shown themselves as a company with integrity, and so any future shopping can be done with confidence, as I now know they stand by their product.
