Very little output for a 9600 btu unit
Does not seem to have very much fan speed at all even on high. And it takes 15 to 30 minutes to blow cold air. For $2000.00 I would have expected more. I have it installed on the roof of a Polaris Ranger very small area and it doesn’t cool very much for almost 10,000 btu. Also it would have been nice if this would have been a dual a/c heat unit like most other units.Over all not the happiest with this unit for the $$$

Great customer service!
I purchased the Douglas D20 to install on an old travel trailer. We were looking for something 12V so we could save some energy from not using an inverter when boondocking, and the D20 was just the right size.First off, I didn't expect to have the wires included so that was an awesome bonus. There are 10m (~30 feet) of 6 gauge wire included and an inline fuse. Battery terminal crimps are preinstalled. When I installed and tried to cool my trailer, I noticed the air wasn't getting cold and could hear the compressor cycling on and off. I contacted Douglas and they were great to work with. They shipped me some new parts overnight so that I could try to repair it myself, and when that didn't work they sent me a whole new unit (and I sent the defective one back). The new one is working now!I really like that this uses R134a, so that when I need a recharge on the road I can get refrigerant pretty much anywhere. The fan is *strong* on this. It moves a ton of air, more than I expected. But it has several settings so you can adjust as needed.I was able to run this off my LiFePO battery and also my 55A converter-charger. I didn't measure the amp draw but it didn't blow any fuses, so the 48A rated max power draw must be accurate. The install was easy. I modified an existing 14" standard opening to be what the instructions needed. I have a thicker roof than the included threaded rods would handle, but I bought some that were a little longer to be able to accommodate it.Overall, I am happy with it!
