Unlocked but you will but only 4g capable with Verizon and T-Mobile
It is fully unlocked but does not connect to the 5 G network for T-Mobile. I was able to contact the seller, but they were unable to help. I did further research and discovered that AT&T pushed a firmware update that removed the N41 band from the device. Unfortunately, I do not have the technical skills to restore these bands, and I read that it was rather tricky. The product worked as intended, looked new, and did not have issues described in the negative reviews. I would be pleased with the purchase if the device connected to the 5 G T-Mobile network, hence the five-star review.

Absolute piece of crap
I should have known better than to buy refurbished electronic equipment. I learned this lesson years ago, but I guess my memory lessened the experience over time. I remember oh so well now. The charger that came with it won't run the device without the battery in it. Tried a different charger and it would cycle on and off. Next the SIM card was hard to install. After watching video I got it in - no signal. Checked the net and they said sim card had to installed just right to make it work. Since the charger doesn't work this meant removing battery, moving the card a bit and then reinstalling battery. Each time 5 minute time for device to boot up. After 30 minutes of this I realized - this is a complete piece of crap. Back in the box and off to Amazon it goes. DON'T PURCHASE!!! There is a reason this is so heavily discounted and not worth it even at that price.

Good deal so far.
It works as good as hot spotting my Iphone. But the ATT signal at my house isn't great. I leave mine plugged in all the time, with the battery out. That is the only way I get a strong enough signal to work the way I want. I leave the cover off and have a small cooling fan going on it all the time. I also have an external antenna hooked up to it all the time. If I don't do all of this, it won't work. I also have to check on it every few days because I get spam messages to the phone number that goes to it. If I don't delete the messages or it won't work. When I purchased this, ATT didn't have a wireless router like they do now. That might work better than this, but I paid a lot for this and I am making it work. I have a lake place that has a better ATT signal and it works better out there. When I have a good ATT signal I can have 10 different wifi items hooked up. When the signal is not good, I have to go around and turn off Wifi on a few things, until I get enough signal to run what I want.

Works great.
Bought a refurbished like new unit and received what appears to be a floor model. In excellent condition. I bought the additional antenna to help with reception. After a very lengthy time working with at&t to get it set up (originally could not get it to connect to internet so had to call their tech support) and running correctly (you must buy a separate data plan for this as of 5/2024) I was able to receive 5g signals. This unit will adjust to whatever the best signal is that can be received. We are using it on a seasonal lot in a trailer that sits just on the boundary or 4g and 5g so it shifts between the two. Its about as reliable as you can expect given our location. The closer you are to 5g tower the better speed and reliability you will have.We also find that (as expected) the more devices that connect to it, the more the service degrades.Overall for our location, needs, and expectations it's working about as expected. Wish the service there was a little better but it serves its purpose for the most part.

Pretty much plug and go
I ordered this as a refurbished piece of equipment and got it much cheaper than brand new. I took it to AT&T and they set me up with a SIM card and unlimited connection and data without throttling. It was really simple to set up, and change any settings I wanted. It has a fast connection and works great. I can stream on a couple devices without issues, though at first there seemed to be some but they went away without having to do anything. I can’t cloud game or do any multiplayer but for a mobile hotspot it gets the job done for watching tv/movies. I used it to stream the Paul Tyson fight and didn’t have any issues until Netflix servers had the issues.

Will not stay charged
I I had the hotspot for a few months and every time it would not stay charged. I tried keeping it charged, especially before I needed to take it from a meeting the next day. Would not work. Then whenever I went to Mexico two weeks ago, it kept saying that it was locked on the AT&T network. This is supposed to be an unlocked Netgear hotspot that literally does not work. Do not waste your money.

Cheaper
Way cheaper than buying a new one and it functions just like new

Not bad enough to sell, but not good enough to be excited about it.
When its got a good connection it's pretty fast, but it gets really hot pretty quickly and then Throttles the data to prevent overheating. Chews through batteries like a Tornado in a Trailer Park. Extra batteries are cheap luckily. external Antenna helps a great deal, but that's not always viable while you are out and about. Touchscreen can also be a little flaky.
