Pump damaged from internal leak.
I operated this pump for around 3-4 months continuously during 40C+ summer to run the boat air conditioning. It was running great without issues until it suddenly failed by tripping the shore power.Contacted the seller for warranty claim & a new one was sent without hesitation (currently in transit). I figured the two shipping fees would cost more than the pump itself so I was told not to return the old pump. Then, the curiosity kicked in as to why it failed. I have taken the pump apart as much as I could. Found water residue all over the rotating magnet chamber (there are two chambers, one for impeller and one for the magnet. I'm positive that the chamber for the rotating magnet should be dry & sealed as it's exposed to the motor shaft and motor internals. I also found the black sealant shown on the photo detached from the orange plastic shell, so no longer submersible. The motor shaft also would not rotate, so I'm assuming it welded to something due to water ingress. My suspicion is that water had entered the motor winding via internal water cooling pipes and caused a short and welded rotator locked.Very disappointed in this product as the pump build quality & materials looked solid. Not sure if I will use the replacement pump when it arrives as I'm sure it will happen again. Most importantly the seller has handled this great.Hopefully, you will find this helpful
